What is really going on ? [tip] ...please, spend your precious time and read everything. It is true, I also hate to read help and instructions, but there is no way out. For KamVen to function and to achieve our goals, it is essential that everyone would understand, what is really going on here and how to become part of this project. 1.) What caused to create this project... 2.) What kind of information are we gathering... 3.) You can become a part of this project... 4.) Competitions... 5.) Goals and the vision of near future...   What caused to create this project... You probably know it, beautiful Tuesday afternoon, the sun is shining, 28oC in the shade, no wind…. and you are sitting by the computer at work, looking to the monitor, but you don't see anything. You say to yoursefl: "What would I probably do, when I don't really want to do anything?…" You just have no idea. You are just looking as you are asleep and you know,you will not do anything. So you say to yourself, since I am here by the computer, I will look for some places I can go on a beautiful day like this one… And it is here! You will not find anything!…if you find something, it would be only seperated information that you have very hard time finding. So I said to myself, it has no sence to sit by the computer and do nothing, I'd rather go cycling. So I did it and I met quite a lot of colleagues, who had similar idea and could not stand it in the office. Suddenly something struck me as the lightning and I got a brilliant idea. "What if each of us wrote a route, that have been on today, to some kind of public system? That would be just perfect, it would be possible to find something on the internet…", and the idea was in the world.   What kind of information are we gathering... It is mainly accumulating and collecting of all possible information: about interesting places (in the system under the symbol Locality) including photographs and the descriptions in two languages (collector's native and English), about the routes, that you can find in concrete localities (in the systém under the symbel Unregistered Route and Recommended Route), important information, observations and advice form the tourism and cycling areas. Next about automatization of all preparations for a route, like automatic calculation elevation, time of the group, drawing of a profile graph of a specific route etc... … To make the information as wide as possible, we devided the routes into several categories: easy walk or stroll, walking hike, mountain hike, climbing hike, cycling route, road cycling route, MTB cycling route (with the mountain bike) and for winter cross-country trail. Whereas everyone can insert his own special routes, experience, photoes and localities, the system should not be boring and should have deverse comments from the authors (like the captiousness of the route, the price of beer in the pub on the route etc…) To see a complete locality page with pictures, click here...   You can become part of this project... This system should be great mainly because of the fact that everyone, who want to share his route and experince from his journeys, can instert them here. And one more thing! Every inserted fact, eithere locality, route, photograph or advice can give you (the collector) one more advantage. You can take part in many competitions and even you can win many interesting prices, which give us our sponsors. The conditions for becoming a collector you can find here. Just click....   Competitions... Since we are introducing many technological innovations (sport equipment, etc…) according to our sponsors, we will be competing a lot. There will be many criterias in the contests - about the industriousness of collectors - how many localities or route each collector collected, about the most beautiful photo, about the most interesting route, the most detailed description of the area, etc., there will be many contests all the time. Anyway I summarize and extent this subject in a few points. collect information about tourist interesting localities and routes gather people, who show interest about tourism, sport and nature give the exchanging experience opportunity to interested people help by execituve fnctions (like calculation of the time and profile of the route) during all preparations to go on a route etc... One of our other service, that is still in progress, will be also the database of cultural and sport activities with the connection to localities in the system....
